The Lytro ILLUM was developed in an industrial design partnership with Artefact Group, notably:
Markus Wirezoch and Tim Hulford on ID.
As the head of design for Lytro I oversaw all user-touchable aspects of product development. My direct responsibilities included:
- Product definition [features, brand, specifications, insights]
- Creative oversight [form, CMF, artwork, team management]
- Physical UI/UX [ergonomics, controls, information architecture]
- Surfacing master model [Creo master models]
- Mechanical architecture [Part layout, breakup, subassemblies]
- Packaging [OOBE, form, artwork, internationalization]
- General engineering support [mechanical design, cosmetic manufacturing]
- Administration [vendor selection, contract management, project oversight]
